About Daphne's Welsh Lamb

Daphne and William Tilley proud to build a family legacy for Welsh LambDaphne and William Tilley proud to build a family legacy for Welsh Lamb

The originator and founder of Daphne’s Welsh Lamb is Daphne Tilley a woman with a passion for farming, the countryside and PGI Welsh Lamb.  She had the vision to bring the finest family farm produced PGI Welsh Lamb to the menus of some of the UK's finest restaurants.

Daphne spends her time supervising the running of two family farms in Wales and rubbing shoulders with some of the UK’s top chefs supplying them with Daphne’s Welsh Lamb. The success of Daphne’s Welsh Lamb is not just a testament to the tenacious and passionate spirit of Daphne, it is a result of a team effort, community enterprise and hard work on the family farms of North Wales where the product is produced.

Now, as a grandmother of five, you may have expected Daphne

Tilley to be enjoying her retirement. But instead, the PGI Welsh Lamb farmer who has already clocked up a lifetime of farming (with her husband William and family) has no plan of stopping any time soon.  “People are surprised that I’m still working as a grandmother at the age of 73; my job is part of my lifestyle and one that I absolutely love. I’m passionate about farming, the countryside and the PGI Welsh Lamb that we produce which I think is part of the reason it has been so popular.  Some of my family run our farms now to ensure that the legacy we have created here will continue for generations to come but until I have to, I certainly have no plans to stop working just yet.”
